Kaum sind wir angekommen und haben uns einen Tag Pause gegönnt, geht die Arbeit auch schon wieder weiter: Der Gennaker ist schon beim Segelmacher und Rainer checkt mal wieder das Rigg sowie die Kabel im Mast.
Ich räume auf und bereite die Wäsche vor - hier gibt es einen hervorragenden Laundry-Service - außerdem plane ich noch das Abendessen, denn heute Abend findet die Abschlussfeier der ARC statt. Diese wird aufgrund der herrschenden Coronaregeln von Bord der Yachten verfolgt. Wir können schon beobachten, wie die Bühne auf dem zentralen Steg aufgebaut wird. Hier werden die Reden gehalten und dann findet die Preisverleihung in den verschiedenen Kategorien statt. Es sollen Stelzenläufer und Musiker über die Stege laufen, um die Party zu den einzelnen Booten zu bringen. Mal sehen, wie das heute Abend ablaufen wird.
Morgen reisen dann unsere Gäste ab. Die Damen werden noch eine Woche in einer Lodge auf St. Lucia verbringen und dort ihren Urlaub ausklingen lassen.
As soon as we arrived and took a day's break, the work continues again: the gennaker is already at the sailmaker's and Rainer is checking the rig and the cables in the mast again.
I clean up and prepare the laundry - there is an excellent laundry service here - and I also plan dinner, because the ARC finish ceremony is taking place this evening. Due to the prevailing Corona rules, this is tracked from board the yachts. We can already see how the stage is being set up on the central walkway. The speeches are given here and then the awards ceremony in the various categories takes place. Stilt walkers and musicians will walk across the pontoons to bring the party to the individual boats. Let's see how this goes tonight.
Our guests will be leaving tomorrow. The ladies will spend another week in a lodge on St. Lucia and let their vacation slowly peter out.
