WAS FÜR EINE NACHT!!
Zwar sagte unser Wetterbericht kräftige Winde vorher…
…aber was dann kam, war schon sehr knackig. Ab ca. 22:00 Uhr legte der Wind ständig zu, Barometer fiel um 10 hPa binnen 8 Stunden und wir hatten in Böen bis zu 9 Bft, konstant 6-7 Bft und
beeindruckende Wellen während das Tief über uns durchzog.
Gegen 02:00 morgens haben wir zu viert 1 Stunde an Deck gearbeitet, um unser Großsegel zu bergen. Dabei gab es für jeden einige kräftige Salzwasserduschen.
Das alles hat uns ein bisschen weiter nördlich geblasen als geplant.
Aber jetzt ist alles gut, das übelste Wetter ist vorbei und wir haben wieder Kurs auf Horta.
Alle sind ein bisschen erschöpft und müde, aber sonst geht es uns und dem Schiff gut.
Lt. Wetterbericht, sollte es immer noch mit Ankunft in Horta am 21. klappen.
Wir werden auch alles tun, um das zu schaffen - aber behalten natürlich das Wetter im Auge und legen die höchste Priorität darauf, sicher anzukommen.
Drückt uns die Daumen, dass wir die nächsten zwei Tage noch angenehmeres Wetter und feinen Segelwind haben.
Während ich hier schreibe, klart es auf und der Wind geht auf 22-25 runter, Welle nimmt auch ab.

WHAT A NIGHT
Though the weather report predicted some stronger winds…
…but what came was waaaay more. From 10:00 pm the wind was getting stronger and stronger, pressure dropped 10 hPa in 8 hours and we had gusts up to 9 Bft and a constant 6-7 Bft and impressive
waves while the Low was passing over us.
Around 02:00 am we were working with 4 people for an hour to take down and secure our mainsail, and everyone got a fair amount of salt water showers.
We got blown a bit further North than we had planned.
But now, everything is good again, the worst of the weather is through and we have set course to Horta again.
Everybody is a bit exhausted and tired, but other than that we are fine and also the boat is in good shape.
According to the latest weather report we can still make it to Horta til the 21st, and of course we are all keen on arriving there rather sooner than later.
We’ll put all effort in to make it, but still keep an eye on the weather.
The main priority is to arrive safely.
Keep your fingers crossed, that we have some nicer weather and favorable winds for the next two days.
While I’m writing here, it’s getting lither and clearer outside and the wind has dropped to stable, 22-25kn, waves are getting smaller.
We are good again ;-))
